Finspreads was established by sports spread betting experts Sporting Index back in 1999, and introduced online dealing in 2001. It was purchased by IFX Markets in 2006, which itself was subsequently bought by City Index. Although it retains its own name and identity separate to City Index, they are both part of the same group, City Index Holdings Ltd.
